Republican Debate Schedule
On January 16th, 2015, the RNC announced the 2015-2016 presidential
debate schedule. They announced that there would only be 12 debates compared
to the 27 debates that were held in the 2011 to 2012 presidential election
cycle. Based on the amount of republican candidates, we believe there will
have to be more than the scheduled 12 debates and we will announce them if
any are added.
The following broadcast networks will host the number of debates:
Fox News (3 debates)
CNN (3 debates)
ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, Fox Business Network (1 debate)
A conservative media outlet will be announced.
The first debate will be Thursday, August 6, 2015, one debate will follow
per month until February, when three are scheduled, and March, when two are
scheduled.
With up to 18 major candidates potentially competing for the nomination, the
prospect of including all the candidates in a debate presents logistical
difficulties. For the August 6, 2015 Fox News debate, only the top 10
candidates based on the most recent five national polls will be invited. For
the September 16, 2015 CNN debate, there will be one debate with only
candidates who are in the top ten in recent polling, and another for those
not in the top ten but polling at least one percent in public polling.
